Creating Demand in the Small-business Market: Channel Marketing Strategies
Evolution of Marketing Channels
Background
Financial institution marketers have a variety of channels at their disposal to reach small-business owners and move them from awareness to conversion during the purchasing process. However, the sheer number of options can make it challenging to determine which channels are most effective for creating demand within the small-business market. An explosion of digital channels, including social media, mobile and web, has been thrown into the mix with traditional channels, such as television, print publications, radio and direct marketing — and all are vying for business owners’ attention.
According to research conducted by the Enterprise Council on Small Business and detailed in the recent webinar, “Demand Generation: Effective Marketing Channels, From Awareness to Conversion,” small-business owners can only recall four media channels during a purchasing process. Information from additional channels simply goes unnoticed, making a targeted, tactical approach to channel marketing essential.

Disaster Recovery Tip #36: Can You Go It Alone?
The 72 Hour Rule
This year has been one for the record books. Hurricane Irene will likely be the 10th billion-dollar disaster of 2011, breaking the annual record dating back to 1980. This year’s blizzards, floods, forest fires, earthquakes, tornadoes, tsunamis, and tropical storms have all been valuable reminders about the importance of preparedness.
As we have seen, when disaster strikes, roads may be blocked or impassable and it may be several days before assistance can reach you. It is critical that you prepared to be on your own for the first 72 hours after a disaster.
In light of National Preparedness Month and in an effort to help you prepare, Agility is hosting a free webinar tomorrow, September 7th at 2:00 EST. Please join us in welcoming Chief David Paulison, Former Administrator of the Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA), as he discusses the need for individuals, organizations and communities to be self-sufficient for a minimum of 72 hours following any interruption.

Disaster Recovery Tip #35: A Time to Remember. A Time to Prepare.
September is Here
Today marks the first day of National Preparedness Month, a nationwide effort designed to encourage Americans to take simple steps to prepare for emergencies in their homes, workplace and communities. For the seventh consecutive year, Agility is partnering with FEMA’s Ready Campaign to educate all businesses about the importance of continuity planning.
This year’s National Preparedness Month slogan: “A Time to Remember. A Time to Prepare.”, recognizes the 10 year anniversary of the 9/11 terrorist attacks, which united our country both in our shared grief and in our commitment to prepare and plan for emergencies.
In honor of National Preparedness Month, Agility is offering free educational webinars, tools and resources throughout the month of September. For more information click here. We hope you can actively participate and help us build a culture of preparedness.
